Packing tips and tricks

I will be the first to admit that I tend to overpack. Hey, a girl needs options! But with all the traveling I do, I’ve picked up a few tips and tricks on how to travel light or stay below the 50 lb limit (same thing right?).

  1. Roll your clothes-This has been a game changer. Your clothes take up so much less space when they’re rolled and it prevents them from getting wrinkled. Win win, right?
  2. Use clothes dividers-This minimizes the space in your suitcase, keeps you SO much more organized, and makes repacking at the end of the trip so much easier. I know I hate when my clothes are messily sprawled and stuffed in my suitcase, making it a lot more difficult to find that really cute top you wanted to wear to dinner only to find it crumpled in the corner of your suitcase. Trust me, use clothes dividers and you’ll thank me later.
  3. Plan your outfits ahead of time-It is so helpful to have an idea of the outfits you want to wear, so once you get to your destination you can just throw on your preplanned outfit and start your day. It also makes packing a lot easier and prevents overpacking because you already know the outfits you will be wearing each day.
  4. Pack basics-Packing basic, versatile clothes (like white t-shirts, or cute jeans) makes packing so much easier. You can style these basics with lots of different things and create a ton of outfits with just a few pieces.
  5. Minimize the amount of shoes you bring-We all have the super cute pair of heels that would look great with the dress you’re bringing for a dinner, but it is not worth it to waste space on a pair of shoes you will wear for one night. Pack basic shoes that go with lots of outfits.
  6. Get creative with the space you have-Take advantage of all the space you’ve got! The insides of your tennis shoes are great underwear holders. Really just get creative, you’ll find a lot of unused space you can utilize.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed or found some helpful tips. Happy traveling!
