Fall has officially arrived, which is both amazing and scary because that means it’s about to get cold. Coming from Texas, I was unfamiliar with the concept of fall. Texas has two seasons: brutally hot and comfortably less hot. In Philly, fall is very much a season, which calls for a whole new wardrobe (sorry dad). Here is what I think everyone will be wearing this fall.
- Leather everything- Whether it’s leather pants, or jackets, or skirts, or shirts, leather is very much in and is here to stay. I love the leather look (just ordered a pair of flair leather pants from Zara), my only struggle is finding which shoes to wear with them. All of my boots are black leather and I feel like that’s too much leather together (if that is even possible). Thoughts?
- Lug sole shoes- For those unfamiliar, lug sole shoes just have a bit of a chunkier base. These have been so popular with boots and recently loafers. I think it’s a super cute look and is very flattering on the legs.
- Collared sweaters- I love love love anything with a collar. I’m not sure what it is, but if I see a collared shirt I have to buy it. Especially with collared sweaters. I think they are so so cute. You can pair it with jeans for a simple yet put together look.
- Statement pants- Mark my words. Fall 2021 is going to be the season of funky pants. The amount of cute corduroy pants I’ve seen or colored pants. I’m here for it, though. I’m sick of just wearing jeans everyday, so I am going to be fully embracing the funky pants trend this fall.
- Colorful pieces- I also think this fall will be a colorful season (colored sweaters, pants, shirts, skirts, everything). Fall traditionally calls for more neutrals, but I think after being locked up for so long people are going big and bright with their clothing. I especially think green will be the color of the season.
- Button downs- I love the oversized button down look with jeans and then a sweater on top with the collar peeking out once it gets cold. Ugh. So cute. My one issue is that these button downs are upwards of $60 online. Please for the love of God do not spend this much on a button down. Go to any thrift store and get one from the mens section or buy it from Uniqlo.
