Budapest Travel Diary

I went to Budapest for the European Maccabi games and it was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I got to represent USA and play field hockey against the other Jewish athletes and their respective countries. We also got to meet other USA athletes and people from all over the world. Pictured below is the opening ceremony. They lit up the filled stadium with team USA colors when we walked out and had us walk around the whole stadium while people cheered, and then they did this for every country. There were 42 countries and 2,300 athletes, so it was a long night to say the least. On Friday night we got to attend shabbat services in the largest synagogue in Europe and the second largest in the world. It was beautiful. My sister and her boyfriend also flew down from London for the weekend, so I got to go sightseeing with the best travel buddies I could have asked for 🙂 Our weekend was full of laughter and happy bellies. Then my team had our medal ceremony where we got bronze!! And then the next day we had our closing ceremony. All in all, it was an amazing trip and I am so happy I went. Keep reading for all my restaurant recommendations! Also shout out to @sedelsonphotos for all the great pics!
